There are two kinds of Installation 

1. Inside Mount and
2. Outside Mount.

INSIDE MOUNT

WIDTH

• Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in 3 places (top, middle, and bottom).
• Make all measurements to the nearest 1/8^th inch, round DOWN for width.
• Take the SMALLEST of the 3 measurements, this is the width that you will order.
• Production department will make the necessary deductions to ensure the blind/shade fits inside your window.

HEIGHT

• Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in 3 places.
• Make all measurements to the nearest 1/8^th inch, round UP for height.
• Take the LARGEST of the 3 measurements, this is the height that you will order.

OUTSIDE MOUNT

WIDTH

• Measure the exact width (left to right) of the window frame or how wide you would like the blind to be.
• Be sure to measure wide enough to cover the entire window and provide maximum light coverage.
• Example: If the window opening is 36” wide, it might be helpful to order 40” if the space allows. This will provide 2” coverage on each side of the window.
• No deductions/additions will be made to the width ordered.

HEIGHT

• Measure the height you would like the blind to be by measuring top to bottom.
• Be sure to measure high enough to cover the entire window and provide maximum light coverage.
• Example: If the window opening is 60” high, it might be helpful to order 64” if the space allows. This will provide 2” coverage on top and bottom of the window.
• No deductions/additions will be made to the height ordered.

Vertical Blinds - #Vertical blind is a complete outdated product.

In this blind Fabric is cut in to 4 inches stripes and then all the fabrics strips are hanged in a channel.The problem with this blind is whenever you switch on the fan the vertical strips cant handle the air pressure and they start moving, which creates lot of noise and you will feel irritation as these blinds just can't even handle the air pressure of fan.

When you go for buying a wood blind you should know some technical points like :-

Which wood is used in wood Blinds ?

There are many woods available in market.

Best among them is BASSWOOD reason  this wood is light in weight and the most strongest.The lighter the weight of the wood the easy it is to operate,the heavier the weight of wood, more tough it will be to operate.

Woods like MDF , Faux Wood ,some other Artificial wood are also available in market ,they also come cheap but they are the worst woods.They are very heavy and spoils the internal operating mechanism of wood blind.They are only good if you want them for a look and not for operating them.

How to check that the wood you are buying is basswood ?

MDF          : is made of cardboard  and is  very heavy.
Faux wood : is made of kind of plastic and is also very heavy.
Basswood  : is actual wood, strong and light in weight.

Ask your vendor to show you small sample of all the woods he is offering. You can check the quality of wood by breaking  it. 

If the size of window is more than 15 sqft , (and the wood used is not Basswood ) the blind will be very heavy.

Best option is to operate the blind before buying.

Operating Mechanism ?

Somfy Motors Adjustment

SOMFY  MOTORS  PROGRAMMING  GUIDE  FOR  RTS MOTORS

Before you Begin : All motors are shipped without any limit setting. All the steps must be followed. Power should ONLY be connected to the motor which is being programmed. All other motors should be disconnected from their respected power while programming.

Step  1 : Connect Power

Step  2: Press both UP and DOWN buttons at the same time until the shade jogs. A jog is brief Up               and down motion.

Step  3 : Check Direction

Press UP will move the shade up and Press DOWN will move the shade down , if the direction is reverse / opposite , To change the direction press and hold MY until the shade jogs , A jog is brief up and down motion. Now you can check the directions , they will be OK.

Step  4 : Set the limits

Bring the shade down by pressing DOWN BUTTON, the shade/blind  may stop in between ,don't  worry, again press the  DOWN  button and get it down to the desired position. After reaching the desired bottom point press  UP and MY together , your bottom limit is set. And Blind will start moving upwards.

Once you reach the Upper Required Point where you want your blind to stop every time Press  MY  , the blind will stop and then press DOWN  and MY BUTTON  together blind will start moving down and this sets the upper limit. Blind will automatically stop at the lower position which is already set.

Step  5: Confirm the Limit

            Press and hold  MY until the shade jogs .This will set your both limits.

Step  6 : Complete Setting

To finally complete the settings of Remote with Motor you need to press the button with a stick which is there at the back side of remote. And keep pressing until the blind/shade  jog, Once it jogs your blind is completely set.
